We had our holiday meeting today for all the leads at the LC store I'm at. It seemed that the Starbucks info was overshadowed by the total lack of support by the managers in the stores, barring my store. It was painful hearing one person after another say how they had no support. I was more appalled by the total lack of balls on the part of these managers. They let these asswipe managers of a grocery store rule over them and tell them they are worthless and the work they do is pointless. They believe that they don't deserve to have respect and that they are helpless. It is no wonder that so many LC's are crappy. If this is how they are treated and how they view themselves, then how can they provide legendary service? I am the top selling store and I demand respect and if I need something I get it, even if I have to ask every day until the people I'm asking just get sick of me and do what I want, just to shut me up. For all of those on this post that are in a company store that is doing well, this will probably not be helpful, but for those who need to get changes made PLEASE, just be a pain in the ass. Don't be rude, mean or anything that can get you in trouble, but be a pain in the butt, a constant pest, and get what you need to make your workplace right. I want all those Baristas who are unhappy because they are being treated unfairly, to be happy and treated with the respect they deserve as human beings...Isn't that one of our guiding principals?????

I work at a starbucks inside a grocery store.
Today a customer told me that we always seem so happy and everyone else in the grocery store seems so not happy. It's been one of those weeks where I've been questioning my skills as a lead and this made it all better. If people are seeing happiness flow from my baristas and I, and they are loving the beverages we produce, then I can't be too bad.
